Crunch Time and it doesn’t Bodde Well

By: Tom | June 28th, 2009

Ferrie Bodde is set for make or break talks with Paulo Sousa today over his future at the club. It is believed by many that the 27 year old Dutchman wants his shot at the Premiership and is keen for the Swans to let him go. Huw Jenkins however is sick of the current trend in Swansea of jumping ship and is now sticking to his guns over a transfer fee. I think this is the right course of action as Bodde is pivotal to our midfield. The Bolton offer scraped 2.5million and involved clauses and add ons, but because we allowed ADO Den Haag 50% of any future fee for him Jenkins is keen to double Bodde’s price as we do not need to sell. With luck Sosa can dissuade Bodde from leaving but what ever happens Huw Jenkins is holding out for the green stuff. I just hope we can find a replacement for the Dutchman but my instinct tells me we wont be seeing to many of his quality back down the Liberty for a few seasons yet, and definately not for the nominal sum of £85,000.

I’d love Wolves to sign him.

I’d prefer him to go to Wolves. I think with players like kightly and SEB he could really link up well with them and with his quality switch passes, he could put them in behind those pesky premiership defences.

I think we’d appreciate him and his style of play too, we like to play football and Swansea were one of the best, if not the best footballing sides last season.
